...you must be a potential customer that I sent here or a friend. Welcome. One caveat for my own employment security: This is a personal page; even though I'm using this blog to plug NewsGator's products, no one at work has approved it.

BTW, despite a degree in geophysics and a pilot's license and some HTML experience, I'm not that technical a guy. Really. That said, adding the widgets to this page was very, very easy. If RSS is Really Simple Syndication, then using widgets this way is *really* Really Simple Syndication. It's a great way to extend your brand and your content and...every time a page loads you get advertising revenue (assuming your widget carries an ad, of course).

Earth Knowledge Widget

This Google Maps mash-up widget presents earth science news and points to where that news is relevant on the map.

National Geographic Co-Brand UGC Widget

This is a Flash-based widget that presents user-generated images uploaded to National Geographic that are then, four times a day, placed in this widget. 32 papers chose to co-brand this widget when it was launched.
